Hi kids,
The holidays are over and I'm afraid boredom is about to set in. I did hear Diane say that she's beginning to plan Family Month so the boredom probably won't last very long.
I had a wonderful time here during Christmas. The beautiful Advent dinner, the birthday party, and all kinds of "special events."I really had an advantage this year. Rev. Libb with his new glasses had a hard time focusing on me so I didn't have to worry too much about getting caught.
I think Abe Bible is praying for an early spring. He presented Rev. Libb with a baseball cap instead of a football helmet. Sort of like lets get winter over and bring on spring. Do you think Rev. Libb will be a good hitter if he decides to play?
As 2011 begins we're to "inventory" our lives. We're all another year older and we must remember if we want Rev. Libb to do a wedding or funeral we must "do the math." Also be very careful. If he gets too many requests he may be asking for prepaid funerals.
Well, now that the holidays are over I'm off to take a rest.
Till next month,
Love, Charlie
P.S. Oh yes! I forgot. It's time to use our new envelopes. It's a new "green year." Don't throw throw them away. Fill them, turn them in, and let the church worry about
Hi Kids,
Love Month is over and spring should be upon us. However, snow is still with us. I think we’ve had plenty for this year.
Family Month went well. The youth did an excellent job taking over the service. After church, it was off to the swim and pizza party. Anna had an excellent idea. For protection against water, hold your nose and if you’re fearful of heights, cover your eyes. It gives you confidence and works perfectly every time. As far as the basketball game went, I think that it was a proven fact — youth counts when you’re on the court.
The bowling night was wonderful. It was right up my alley. After scouting the tables for food, I came across a bowling ball and pins made of cake. It made my night at the bowling alley perfect. Hi kids,
Summer's finally here and it's too hot already. The Bible School's theme was right on the mark. Although there were plenty of beach surroundings a lot of people really worked up a sweat. At times I thought I was in a dance studio. Constant motion. The kids got into it but it was a bit much for me. I'm certain Linda was very tired at the end of the week.
Now my family is looking forward to the church picnic. Lots of fun, swimming, and of course, lots of wonderful food. Watch out for Rev. Libb. He's been known to pack a water pistol.
The fun fest is coming quickly too. I can hardly wait! I remember all the contests at the rock wall and the woman with pink hair from the cotton candy. The food was great and the home made ice cream really hit the spot. I can't wait to see you there.
I guess I'm off to bed. I've been watching fireworks and I'm very tired. Maybe tomorrow I can get some rest.
Till next month,
Love, Charlie
Family Month went out with a bang! I think one lesson was learned. Jeff — if you’re late for supper and the auction has started, NEVER wave for anyone.j
Last but now least, it was unanimously decided to have a healing service during family month. Now we’re taking a poll. Should it be: 1. after the basketball game; 2. after skating; or 3. after bowling. Think about it …..
